Free Insomnia Ebook

Inside the pages of this free insomnia ebook, we’ll explore insomnia in depth:  its causes and how to finally get a good night’s sleep!  We are all given the ability from birth to perform certain bodily functions.  While we won’t go into detail specifically, among those functions like eating – is sleeping.  When we’re newborns, we can sleep – perhaps not for very long, but we know how to sleep. Sleep is an innate ability that usually doesn’t take much effort at all.  I mean, how simple can it be to sleep?  You just close your eyes, relax and get taken away to dreamland.  But for many, many people, sleeping isn’t as easy as that.   According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, approximately 60 million people suffer from insomnia.  The inability to sleep affects approximately 40 percent of women and 30 percent of men.   It’s a perplexing condition that drives some people to the brink of madness – nearly literally.  Stephen King wrote a book called, “Insomnia” in which the title character is driven mad by his inability to rest and get enough sleep.  The movie “Fight Club” was also heavily based on a main character that has insomnia. So many people have this disorder that there are sleep clinics all over the country meant to help those who are afflicted. Sleep is meant to revive us and get us ready to live for another day.  When people are denied sleep, the effects can be devastating.  Famous author, F. Scott Fitzgerald once wrote, “The worst thing in the world is to try to sleep and not to.” There is hope, however, in overcoming insomnia.  It’s not easy, but it can be done – even without the help of a professional sleep clinic.

Reflexology Hand ChartFree Reflexology Hand Chart (click on chart to enlarge).  The philosophy behind the art of reflexology is the premise that there are certain reflex sites found on the hands, ears, and feet which actually correspond with different organ and systems of the body.

Reflexology Foot ChartFree Reflexology Foot Chart (click on chart to enlarge).  By producing pressure on these sites, through pressure/touch, message, or squeezing, the corresponding organs and body systems can benefit from the procedure.  Reflexology charts are useful for mapping out the exact reflex site aligned with the corresponding body part. Evidence of ancients reflexology charts are found on Egyptian tombs.

Reflexology Ear ChartFree Reflexology Ear Chart (click on chart to enlarge).   Modern reflexology charts generally show the diagram of a hand, foot or ear with the zones mapped out.  Reflexology charts are very colorful with a different color or shade representing different organs or systems of the body.  The reflexology charts can be numbered and labeled to assist in ease of location for the practitioner to effectively locate the zone for treatment.

Here are two more free Reflexology Charts (in PDF file format), which you can print:

Herbal Medicine is Herbally Alternative

What is it about herbal medicine and natural supplements that make so many doctors flinch?  Is it that these supplements are actually not good for us, or is it something else?  While some doctors are beginning to support patient use of herbal medicine such as Echinacea, others are highly opposed to the use of some of the most beneficial herbal medicine on the market.

There is some reason for caution on the part of the medical community: many of these herbal remedies have not been tested thoroughly by the FDA.  However, many people claim that they will continue using herbal medicine despite the opinion of the FDA.  So who is right?  Many holistic practitioners feel that anything that seems to work does, in fact, work; therefore, there is no harm in drinking an herbal tea or taking a supplement to support and boost one’s immune system.

Natural Stress Relief

Natural Stress Relief to the rescue!

Everyone will have different reasons why a situation causes them stress or anxiety. As a rule it’s usually when we don’t feel in control of a situation, then we feel the situation tightening around us, causing us to feel anxiety.

If anxiety is caused by us not feeling in control of a situation, the answer is to try and reverse this, and regain that control. The good news is: YOU CAN!

So, let’s start looking at some of those tools you can use for natural stress relief.

One of the natural stress relief tools available to you is self-change hypnosis, a technique developed by Richard MacKenzie. His program on Stress Management is excellent and has an 8-week money back guarantee.

For natural stress relief, a little help from our herbal allies is worth looking at, too.

Magnolia Officinalis (known in Chinese medicine as houpu) is a species of Magnolia tree that is native to the mountains and valleys of China. The highly aromatic bark contains magnolol and honokiol, two natural compounds that have demonstrated anti-anxiety properties.

Phellodendron Amurense, or the Amur Corkree, also grows in China, and in parts of Japan.

A natural stress relief herbal remedy called Relora combines Magnolia Officinalis and Phellodendron Amurense. This combination maintains normal levels of certain hormones in the body (cortisol and DHEA), in order to control anxiety and stress and their related symptoms, like weight gain. This herbal combination helps in producing and promoting relaxation and good feelings of high self-esteem.

Your Personality and Your Disease Resistance

Does stress & anxiety affect your disease resistance?  Researchers have recently been looking into why some people succumb to different chronic illnesses while others retain their good health.  There has been a lot of discussion about the possibilities of a type of personality that is, in a very real way, “disease resistant”.

So how is this possible?  Researchers have found that the way a person deals with stress greatly affects their ability to deal with illness and, as a result, they have an improved immune system and can successfully ward off severe chronic illness.  It is thought that just by changing the outlook on everyday stressors – such as having a sense of humor about backing the car out of the garage with the door open – can improve a person’s overall wellbeing.  This also applies to people who already have chronic illnesses: there is a better survival rate among patients with positive attitudes than in patients with depression.

Here’s a link to an article about using Meditation to Reduce Stress.
